Who am I

WTF! Its the Cliffmaster! Just an old guy blogging about shit he don’t know shit about.

When you leave comments on this site I have the ability to collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string and a few other goodies. If I need to for one reason or another but I could give a rats ass about this stuff, but if you spammer assholes piss me off it might make it necessary.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. which reminds me to change my pic. Damn I’m ugly!!

If by chance you upload content to this website, you should avoid uploading media with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. With this info they can track the capture location down.

.If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year but be stale as hell towards the end.

If you visit the login page, this website will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, this website will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who do I share your data with

As of 2022 I personally do not share any of your data. probably because nobody really visits and could care less about this site, but I can assure you at the present time I have no agreements between any other parties to share and or exchange data of this websites visitors. If you ask me I think its bullshit that any site would do this.

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on my website (if any), I also store your personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Only I the Website administrator aka the Cliffmaster can also see and edit any and all information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. You can thank Homeland Security, the F.B.I and the rest of the federal, state and local fuckers for that.

Where I send your data

For now visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Any ad you click may generate revenue for me. I am a Google, eBay and Amazon affiliate. Most products mentioned in an article with a link attached is most likely an affiliate link. All it does is set a cookie telling the merchant were you came from and who owns the link. it does not change the actual retail price of the product. If you were to immediately purchase the item or within 24 hours of the link click, then the retailer would credit me a small commission. This is just a way of me to earn some revenue from this site. Nobody is getting rich or scammed its just a way for some of you to show your appreciation for my content by clicking on and purchasing a product through my site.
